Example ProjectsLED Advertising Systems We were the first to install the perimeter LED advertising systems in sports stadia and have installed the majority in the UK. Each installation is unique due to the various demands of the clients’, their Match Day Safety Plans and the layout of the individual stadia. A key feature is to provide the spectators with emergency access to the pitch in the event of a major incident in the stands. Every project involves civils, mechanical and electrical disciplines:
We have developed two categories of solution to the problem of pitch access in an emergency. The solution for our first installation was to drop 250m of LED boards into the ground at the press of a single button. The second solution involves converting LED boards into gates which can be opened by stewards. This solution is applicable to smaller stadia where the exit rate is reduced. Effective Project Management has repeatedly overcome the challenge of delivering these projects out-of-season over the summer. Chemical Process Plant Installation This project involved installing hundreds of metres of lagged stainless steel pipework, pumps, process plant, 100T storage vessels with concrete containing bunds, high level pipe bridges and shelters for external plant. We managed and delivered the mechanical and civils part of the project. We worked closely with the electrical and controls contractor who had the appropriate ATEX approvals for working in an explosive environment. The major challenges were to find sensible pipe routes through an aged factory and to keep a tight control on the costs. We worked closely with the client, in an open book fashion, to develop the lowest cost solutions. |
